Micro-Credentials

In parallel with the general pathway, students may also choose to work toward specialised micro-credentials in thematic areas of science, technology, and innovation. These:

  • Are available at all levels, starting with simple discovery projects and growing in depth and complexity as learners progress.
  • Are achieved by completing a portfolio of 30 challenge-based projects, each aligned with real-world problems.
  • Are validated externally and issued as blockchain-secured credentials, making them portable and internationally recognised.
  • Allow learners to showcase specific expertise (e.g. coding, earth systems, robotics, health sciences, sustainability) alongside their general level certificate.

🔹 How They Work Together

  • All students follow the general 5-Level Pathway, ensuring broad competence and recognition.
  • Along the way, they may add one or more micro-credentials, depending on their interests.
  • This dual recognition means that a student can, for example, be certified as a Level 3 Innovator and hold micro-credentials in areas like digital coding, astronomy, or sustainability.
  • The model is inclusive: it benefits talented learners who want enrichment and acceleration, typical students who thrive on hands-on, applied projects, and struggling learners who may not excel in exams but can succeed through creativity, persistence, and practical achievements.
